Frequently asked.

Will the contact know I saved their status?
No. Status Downloader reads statuses from WhatsApp's local cache after you've viewed them in WhatsApp itself. There's no notification or trace sent to the contact. WhatsApp's standard 'seen' status applies — same as if you just viewed it.
Why don't I see new statuses immediately?
You need to view them in WhatsApp first. WhatsApp downloads each status to your phone's local storage when you open it. Status Downloader then reads from that cache.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes — and with GB WhatsApp, YoWhatsApp, and FM WhatsApp too. Each fork uses a slightly different cache folder; the app auto-detects them all.
Can I save voice statuses?
Yes. All status types — text, photo, video and voice — are supported.
What if Android 13/14 blocks the cache?
Recent Android versions tightened scoped storage. Status Downloader uses the official WhatsApp Media Picker permission to read statuses. The latest version (3.4+) handles all the new restrictions cleanly.
How much space does it use?
Tiny — 9 MB install. Saved statuses are stored in your normal phone gallery (not duplicated).
Are there ads?
Yes — non-intrusive AdMob ads between actions. Never blocks saving. Pro tier (one-time $1.99) removes ads and adds bulk-save shortcuts.
